In a nutshell, the idea of nomadic regionalism is in reference to the peripatetic lifestyle we have committed to. It's an acknowledgement that all of my experiences and observations wind up being translated into these objects I call Guardian Monsters. A Chinese Lantern from a long journey in China, a wooly worm (an asp caterpillar) crawling over the gate to the farm become a Guardian Monster with regional ties to China and Missouri. An eagle, some graffiti, the colors of Greece become a Guardian Monster with regional ties across the globe.
The landscapes we travel on boat, on foot, on bike, in car, or swimming underwater, become the abodes or haunts, giving the Guardian Monsters context. Here in my wanderings, they find a sense of place.
